Brooklyn MC, The Bad Seed linked with Virginia super producer Nottz in 2000 and created the hip hop classic “For The Kids”.
They soon followed up the record in 2001 with “Uhhnhh” which sold 27,000 units on vinyl , and placed on the gold album “The Mixtape Vol 4” by Funkmaster Flex.
Introduced to each other by Ant Marshall and Danny Castro of the Lyricist Lounge, magic was created.

There is something really special about this album. It's refreshing and different in the best of ways. sndtrk's sample selection is varied and eclectic and while the arrangements are minimal, it doesn't sound like it. The drums are abrasive and unpredictable and just a joy to listen to. The overall production is gritty but slick - such a lovely contradiction. This feels like "nu-boom bap", if there was such a thing? Underrated!
